ALGIERS – Thursday, 18 August 2022 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Thursday a phone call from President Kais Saied of Tunisia, who offered his sincere condolences for the victims of the wildfires in the country’s east, assuring him of Tunisia’s solidarity with and support to Algeria in these circumstances, the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
“President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received today a phone call from his brother President Kais Saied of Tunisia, the sister country, during which he offered sincere condolences, in his own name and on behalf of the bother people of Tunisia, for the victims of the wildfires recorded in some parts of the country, expressing the solidarity and support of the brother country Tunisia to Algeria in these circumstances, and the willingness of his country to provide assistance to Algeria,” the statement said.
For his side, “the president of the Republic thanked his brother President Kais Saied, and through him, the brother people of Tunisia, for these genuine feelings of solidarity and fraternity, stressing the strong fraternal relations between the two brother peoples.”
