ALGIERS – Monday, 04 September 2023 (APS) – The Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament) opened its ordinary session 2023-2024 on Monday, in a plenary session chaired by Salah Goudjil, the Council’s speaker.
The opening ceremony was attended by the speaker of the People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), Brahim Boughali, Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane, and the members of the government.
The session has been opened in line with the provisions of Article 138 of the Constitution and Article 5 of the Organic Law 12-16 of 25 August 2016 on the organization and operation of the People’s National Assembly and the Council of the Nation, and the functional relations between the two houses of Parliament and the Government.
