LISBON – Tuesday, 23 May 2023 (APS) – The talks held Tuesday in Lisbon between the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa were broadened to the members of the two countries’ delegations.

 

Held at the headquarters of the Portugal’s Presidency of the Republic, the talks were held in the presence of Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf, of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab, of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production Ali Aoun, of Trade and Exports Promotion Tayeb Zitouni, of Public Works and Basic Infrastructures Lakhdar Rakhroukh and of the Economy of Knowledge, Startups and Micro-enterprises Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid.

The Portuguese delegation, made up of the counterparts of the Algerian ministers, attended also the meeting.

Shortly before, the President of the Republic received a solemn welcome from his Portuguese counterpart at the Empire Square (Praça do Império), near the headquarters of the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic.

The two Presidents took a souvenir photo with the two ministerial delegations, before reviewing a detachment of the different Portuguese Armed forces.

They afterwards listened to the national anthems of both countries and 21 cannon shots were fired.
