ALGIERS – Saturday, 14 October 2023 (APS) – The minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, on Friday announced “the suspension of all festive activities until further notice,” in solidarity with the Palestinian people and the families of the martyrs following the murderous attacks of the Zionist entity against Gaza and the West Bank.
“The suspension and postponement of all festive activities comes following the disastrous situation of our Palestinian brothers, as a result of the ongoing murderous attacks against the Palestinian people in Gaza and occupied West Bank, making since Saturday hundreds of martyrs and casualties every day,” the statement said.
“In these painful circumstances, Mouloudji extends, in her name and on behalf of Algerian intellectuals and artists, her sincere condolences to our brother Palestinian people, praying to Almighty Allah to grant patience and comfort to the families of the martyrs and a speedy recovery to the injured.”
The minister expressed “the full solidarity of Algerian intellectuals and artists with the Palestinian people and their glorious resistance.”
