STOCKHOLM (Sweden) – Friday, 03 June 2022 (APS) – Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane presented Friday, in Stockholm, Algeria’s experience in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and its impacts, in an address on the second day of Stockholm+50, the high-level international meeting on environment that he attends as the representative of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Benabderrahmane, on the second Leadership Dialogue of the “Stockholm+50” conference on “achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,” said Algeria, under the leadership of the president of the Republic “has made enormous efforts, including financial one, to ensure social support and the basic services to its citizens as well as the appropriate medical care,” which have been “adapted over the two past years by taking into account the Covid 19 preventive measures.”
“Algeria has also worked for the promotion of social justice by eliminating social disparities through investment in bold projects to enhance development in the regions that require special support.”
Benabderrahmane mentioned the measures and actions taken by the Algerian government to address the pandemic, and which “have reduced the spread of the virus and mitigated the negative impact of the different economic activities on the environment.”
“This kind of experience allows us to think about a widespread use of the measures by taking into consideration the specificities of each sector.”
