ALGIERS – Monday, 05 December 2022 (APS) – Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane underlined Monday that Algeria has made significant strides as part of the strategy of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the development of startups, with the aim of reaching one million projects holders in 2023.

“This progress was made possible thanks to the initiative of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune who established the climate for the creation of startups in Algeria and created, since his election, a ministry in charge of this file,” said the Prime minister who chaired the opening of an exhibition on the startups, on the sidelines of the 1st Africa Startup Conference that kicked off under  the patronage of President of the Republic.

After listening to the different presentations and concerns of these companies’ leaders, Benabderrahmane, who was accompanied by Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises Yacine El Mahdi Oualid and Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning Brahim Merad, called the Algerian young people to further adhere to this strategy.

The Prime minister gave instructions to deal with the files as soon as possible at the level of the Algerian Startup Fund.

Stressing the need to shift from the purely administrative management to the economic management, he insisted on the “necessity of adopting economic and financial approaches in terms of startup management.”

Insisting on the good training which will enable youths to acquire the necessary experience to start their own projects, the Prime minister underlined the State’s willingness to provide support to the Algerian startups.
