ALGIERS – Monday, 30 October 2023 (APS) – The CEO of Sonatrach Group, Rachid Hachichi, received Sunday in Algiers the chairman of the Turkish company BOTAS, Abdulvahit Fidan, with whom he raised the possibility‎ of extending partnership and exploring new business opportunities between the two companies, the Algerian state-owned group said in a statement.

The meeting took place in the head office of Sonatrach, in the presence of the managers of the two companies, the statement said.

“The two sides tackled long-term commercial relations, through sale and purchase deals on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) between Sonatrach and BOTAS.”

BOTAS is a state-owned company that supplies the Turkish market with gas.

Sonatrach has been providing LNG to BOTAS since 1988, mainly through Marmara LNG terminal‎, initially built for the delivery of Algerian LNG, the national oil and gas group said.

During the meeting, “the two partners agreed on strengthening their commercial relations and discussed the possibility of extending their partnership and exploring new business opportunities,” the statement said.
