ALGIERS – Tuesday, 12 September 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the Council of Ministers meeting he chaired Tuesday, praised the significant role of the Higher Education executives, who have turned the sector into the engine of scientific research and a model in terms of digitization, the Council of Ministers’ statement said.
Concerning the beginning of the new academic year, the statement said, “the president of the Republic commended the important role of the Higher Education executives, who have turned the sector into the engine of scientific research and a model in terms of digitization, mainly with the organization, for the first time ever, of the start of the new academic year “digitally,” in addition to the effective contribution to the national effort to support the country’s economy.”
In this respect, President Tebboune ordered the “creation of a National School of Cyber Security, in coordination with the ministry of National Defence, to combine efforts and improve the efficiency of this sensitive area, in order to preserve national security.”
He also ordered “the development of a comprehensive and integrated study on the feasibility of a flexible return to the “classical licence,” in replacement of the LMD system.
President Tebboune gave instructions to the ministers of Higher Education and Start-up to develop a “list of the best companies, to send them to China, South Korea and the United States to learn about the experiences of those countries in various areas,” the statement added.
