ALGIERS – Sunday, 12 November 2023 (APS) – The Algerian Agricultural Products Regulation Company (SARPA) has signed a contract with a Chinese company to boost trade in agricultural products, according to a press release from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development released on Sunday.

Signed by SARPA CEO Abderrahmane Boumahdi on the sidelines of the Zhejiang Forum for China-Africa Cooperation, which he attended at the behest of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the contract aims to develop trade through import-export operations of agricultural products from Algeria and China, the same source said.

SARPA’s CEO visited several Chinese companies to explore opportunities for cooperation in the agricultural sector in general, and white and red meat production in particular. His participation also aims to explore opportunities to export meat products to China.

SARPA, which operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture, was set up to regulate production and supply the national market with widely consumed agricultural products while exporting any surplus.
