MOSCOW – Tuesday, 05 December 2023 (APS) – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that his country appreciated Algeria’s balanced foreign policy process, stressing that bilateral cooperation between the two countries is developing at a good pace and that Moscow intends to strengthen coordination with Algeria on current international and regional issues.

In statements reported by Russia’s “Novosti” news agency at the ceremony to present credentials to new ambassadors, including Algeria’s ambassador to Moscow, President Putin said that “human relations between the two countries continue to expand.”

“We appreciate the balanced foreign policy process of the Algerian leadership, especially as Algeria will occupy a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the period 2024-2025,” said President Putin.

“We will naturally coordinate with our Algerian partners on current international and regional issues,” he continued.

On economy, Putin noted that “trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Russia is developing at a good pace, with the volume of trade having exceeded US$02 (two) billion.”
