In his two sermons, the Imam said that Eid al-Adha, which comes after the performance of a sacred rite, namely pilgrimage, was a day when the faithful glorify the rites of Allah and celebrate the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him).
He added that in this religious festival, every Muslim has to show solidarity, tolerance and reconciliation.
He urged the faithful to keep blood ties, show good neighborliness and give some of the sacrificed animals as alms to the poor.
Eid al-Adha coincides with Independence and Youth Day this year, he said, adding that “the Algerian people are sovereign. They are born free and will remain free, and the Algerian people do not accept injustice and enslavement.”
