ALGIERS – Wednesday, 25 October 2023 (APS) – Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane chaired Wednesday, at the Exhibition Centre of Algiers, the official opening of the 26th International Book Fair of Algiers (SILA 2023).

Accompanied by members of the government, including the minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria, Benabderrahmane visited different stands of the fair, starting by that of the People’s National Army, where he received details about its publications.

Organized under the slogan “Africa writes its future,” the book fair, considered as the major literary and cultural event in Algeria, has brought together exhibitors, writers and intellectuals from 18 African countries.

The digital space in the 26th Algiers International Book Fair will host many seminars on books and digitization.

A total of 1,283 publishing houses from 61 countries, including 267 Algerian, 361 Arab and 625 foreign houses are taking part in the international book fair.

The organizers of the event, to run until November 4th, have scheduled 40 cultural and literary activities (seminars and platforms).
