ALGIERS – Friday, 13 January 2023 (APS) – Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane kicked off on Friday afternoon, on behalf of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the 7th African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022) whose opening ceremony is being held in Nelson-Mandela Stadium, in Baraki (Algiers).
The opening ceremony of this championship, which runs until 4 February, is held in the presence of members of the government and representatives of international and local football bodies, including the President of the International Federation of Football FIFA Gianni Infantino, President of the African Confederation of Football CAF Patrice Motsepe, President of the Algerian Federation of Football FAF Djahid Zefizef as well as the grandson of Nelson Mandela, Zwelivelile.
