ALGIERS – Tuesday, 11 October 2022 (APS) – Prime Minister Aïmene Benaderrahmane chaired Tuesday, in Algiers, the opening ceremony of Algeria-EU Energy Business Forum, organized to promote investments and industrial partnerships between the Algerian and the European companies in the fields of natural gas and renewable and new energy.

 

Shortly before the opening of the forum, Prime minister visited an exhibition organized on the sidelines of the event, bringing together Algerian companies exercising in the sector of Energy, like Sonatrach, Sonelgaz, ALNAFT and APRUE agencies, the company Shames Djarair specialized in photovoltaic, and other public and private companies, where he gave directions and received explanations on the progress of the underway projects.

This two-day forum, the second of its kind following that held in 2016, brings together several ministers, including Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, the head of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CNESE), in addition to parliamentarians, representatives of the embassies of EU countries accredited to Algeria, top officials of ministries, national companies and institutions, as well as industrial associations and employers’ organizations.

It aims at promoting investments and industrial partnerships between the Algerian and European companies in the sector of energy and developing mutually beneficial partnerships, in the ligt of the current energy situation.

This meeting’s programme comprises high-level panels on natural gas, renewable and new energy, energy efficiency and hydrogen.

B2B meetings and an exhibition are organized on the sidelines of the forum to enable the participants to discuss partnership opportunities and investment between Algeria and EU.
