ALGIERS – Wednesday, 05 October 2022 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Wednesday a phone call from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank Steinmeier, with whom he discussed ways to boost and expand bilateral relations in all areas, the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
“The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a phone call from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank Steinmeier, who congratulated him on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of Algeria’s independence, and welcomed the level of good relations between the two countries,” said the Presidency in a statement.
“The two Presidents discussed ways to strengthen and expand these relations to all areas and multiply investments in all sectors, including energy and renewable energy, mechanical industry, construction, culture, and healthcare cooperation to build the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital. The two presidents also stressed the need to hold the cooperation commission as soon as possible,” said the source.
On this occasion, “the two presidents focused on regional and international issues of common interest, including the situation in the Sahel and Mali, and emphasized the need to find peaceful solutions in Libya through elections.
“President Steinmeier expressed Germany’s support for the role of the United Nations (UN) Envoy to Western Sahara, and thanked Algeria for its role in peace and stability in the region and Africa,” said the source.
