DJELFA (Algeria) – Monday, 30 October 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Sunday said the Zionist occupation entity’s aggression against the population of the Gaza Strip in Palestine is a “war crime,” stressing that “the Palestinians are not terrorists.”
In an address at a meeting with civil society actors, President Tebboune said what is happening in Gaza “is a war crime,” adding that “the Palestinians are not terrorists since they are defending their country and their rights.”
After recalling that the Algerians had also been described as terrorists when they were defending their land against French colonization, the president of the Republic cited the statement of Algerian martyr of the National Liberation War, Larbi Ben M’hidi, in an answer to the French who had accused Algerian freedom fighters of committing acts of terrorism through bombs concealed in Baskets: “Give us your war planes and we will give you our baskets.”
