ALGIERS – Wednesday, 19 April 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Tuesday a phone call from his brother, the president of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which they discussed bilateral cooperation and the ways to boost them, the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.

The two leaders also discussed the “dangerous and regrettable development of the security situation in Sudan, a sister country, and the way to find a solution to contain, politically, the situation and end the fraternal hostilities in this holy month of Ramadan, a month of piety and forgiveness.”

They stressed “the need to favor dialogue and the supreme interests” of Sudan.

On the occasion of the blessed Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Destiny), the two leaders expressed their “best wishes of prosperity and progress to the brother peoples of Algeria and Turkey.”

The two leaders also exchanged “best wishes on the eve of Eid ul-Fitr, wishing good health and prosperity to the two peoples.”
