ALGIERS – Monday, 04 December 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Monday in Algiers received the president of the African Human and Peoples’ Rights Court, Imani Daud Aboud.

At a press briefing following the audience, Imani Daud Aboud described her discussions with the president of the Republic as “excellent,” welcoming Algeria’s hosting of the month-long works of the African Human and Peoples’ Rights Court.

“I came especially to express to the president of the Republic and the Algerian people our thanks and recognition for the hospitality we received throughout our stay in Algeria.”

During the audience, the president of the Republic expressed “his pride to see Algeria hosting the works of the African Human and Peoples’ Rights Court,” and “committed to continue supporting this body,” Imani Daud Aboud said, noting that Algeria “is among the first African Union member countries to support the African Court.”

President Tebboune renewed “his continued support” to the African Human and Peoples’ Rights Court, she said, adding that she would inform the AU and the African Court of “Algeria’s continued and ongoing support.”

“After the successful month-long works of the African Human and Peoples’ Rights Court, it was important for me to meet the president and benefit from his wisdom,” Imani Daud Aboud said, wishing to continue working with Algeria.
