ALGIERS – Sunday, 19 June 2022 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in a Council of Ministers meeting he chaired Sunday, ordered the teaching of English in primary school, “after an in-depth study by experts and specialists.”

Concerning the curriculum and textbook review, President Tebboune reiterated “his determination to review the legislation governing teaching profession, in line with his commitments in relation to the education system reform.

President Tebboune stressed “the need to review the curriculum in light of the teaching spirit that has led to the training, since independence, of elites in various specialties, while preventing a curriculum review during the school year.”

The president of the Republic gave instructions to start the review, “with well-defined goals, and mainly based on the results of the educational teaching, with at least two or three years as a deadline for the review completion.”
