ANKARA – Monday, 16 May 2022 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune met Sunday evening, in Ankara (Turkey), with the representatives of the national community established in Turkey on the sidelines of the State visit he is paying to this country at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

 

During this meeting, President Tebboune listened to the concerns and proposals of the representatives of the Algerian community in Turkey and answered their questions on the situation in Algeria and the state of the Algerian-Turkish relations.

Stressing the importance of the relations between the two countries, President of the Republic affirmed that the relations between Algeria and Turkey are “very strong at all the levels, notably at the economic, political and historical levels.”

He affirmed that his visit to Turkey is “necessary,” particularly with regard to the remarkable development of the bilateral relations in the past two years, emphasizing Algeria’s willingness to “develop the relations with the brotherly country Turkey to higher levels.”

In this regard, the Head of State underlined that Turkey ranks first in terms of investments in Algeria, reaching more than USD4 billion with a trading volume between USD4 and USD5 billion per year.

President of the Republic pointed out the willingness of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as well as all the Turkish officials to work together with Algeria to increase the value of investments and to enter the African market.
