ALGIERS – Wednesday, 05 July 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, laid Wednesday the foundation stone of the Dzair Media City project in Ouled Fayet, Algiers, as part of the festivities marking the 61st anniversary of the Independence and Youth Day.

Stretching over a surface of 74 hectares, Dzair Media City encompasses an area dedicated to the media, shooting studios, an artist village, a teaching and research facility and multiservice area.

The area dedicated to the media will host the headquarters of the Public Television Company (EPTV), Algeria Press Service (APS), Public Broadcasting Company (TDA), The National Company for Communication, Publishing and Advertising (ANEP), the Algerian Radio and AL24news TV channel.

The president of the Republic ordered to speed up the pace of the media city project, which meets the latest international standards, and which is set to be completed within 27 months.

President Tebboune stressed the necessity to transfer the headquarters of the press centre to the new media city, and devote a building, with a capacity of 50 titles, to the electronic media.

The president of the Republic also raised the possibility for written media outlets to rent premises at the Dzair Media City.
