ALGIERS – Wednesday, 05 October 2022 (APS) – In his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani was received Wednesday in Mogadishu by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to whom he handed over the invitation sent to him by President Tebboune to participate in the Algiers Arab Summit scheduled for early November, said the ministry in a statement.
“In his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani was received Wednesday in Mogadishu by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to whom he handed over the invitation sent to him by President Tebboune to participate in the 31st Arab Summit scheduled for 1-2 November in Algeria,” said the source.
The Minister of Communication conveyed to the Somali president “the fraternal greetings of the President of the Republic and his wishes of well-being and prosperity to the Federal Republic of Somalia.”
For his part, the Somali president confirmed his “personal participation in the next Arab Summit, leading a high-level delegation, and affirmed the support of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Algeria’s efforts to ensure the success of this important Arab event.”
He expressed “his great joy and pride to visit Algeria, especially since the Arab Summit will be held in the land of triumphs, and will coincide with the historic anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Liberation War.”
The Somali president also tasked Bouslimani with delivering a written message he addressed to President Tebboune and to convey his sincere fraternal greetings.
“My participation in the summit in Algiers will be an opportunity to hold in-depth talks with my brother President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on ways to boost the relations between the two countries and two brotherly peoples,” said the Somali president.
This meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Abshir Omar Huruse.
