ALGIERS – Monday, 12 September 2022 (APS) – The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, in his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received Monday in Kuwait by His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to whom he handed the letter of invitation sent by the President of the Republic to His Highness, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to participate in the 31st Arab Summit scheduled for 1-1 November 2022 in Algiers, said the Ministry in a statement.

“The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, in his capacity as the special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was received by His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to whom he handed the letter of invitation sent by the President of the Republic to His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to participate in the 31st Ordinary Session of the Arab Summit scheduled to take place in Algiers on 1 and 2 November 2022,” reads the statement.

 

The two officials “discussed the preparations underway for the holding of this Summit which is a renewed opportunity to promote and strengthen joint Arab action to meet the various challenges facing the Arab Nation.”  

“The President of the Republic relies on the traditional participation of the State of Kuwait, a brotherly country, in this Summit to boost Arab solidarity,” said Arkab.

The meeting was an opportunity to “reaffirm the willingness of both parties to strengthen the fraternal relations between the two countries and expand their bilateral cooperation to various areas of common interest, based on the significant capabilities of both countries, especially in light of the encouraging results of the State visit by the President of the Republic to Kuwait last February,” said the same source.

His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah entrusted Arkab with “conveying to the President of the Republic his fraternal greetings.” 

His Highness praised the painstaking efforts made by Algeria for the success of this important Arab event, reaffirming the support and full readiness of Kuwait, which “will be the first to attend and the last to leave,” to contribute to this noble endeavor.
