ALGIERS – Wednesday, 13 September 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in a meeting of the Council of Ministers he chaired Tuesday, instructed the minister of the Interior and the minister of National Education to take all the required measures for a successful back to school, in coordination between the two sectors, the Council of Ministers’ statement said.
The president of the Republic instructed “the minister of the Interior and the minister of National Education to take all the required measures for a successful back to school and to mobilize all resources, in a close coordination between the two sectors to remove obstacles and resolve problems according to the changing needs of the Algerian School,” the statement said.
In addition, President Tebboune ordered to “exempt poor municipalities from the charges and the costs relating to primary education, which will be fully incumbent on the State, to preserve the democratization of education.”
The president of the Republic stressed that he “gives a paramount importance to school canteens in remote areas, given their major role in providing the appropriate conditions for an optimal education.”
He ordered the “the acceleration of the creation of a national office of school canteens, to deal exclusively with the operation.”
The president of the Republic also ordered the “development of a prospective approach providing for far-reaching reforms to improve the supervision of pupils, to be submitted to the next Council of Ministers meeting.
As part of the general guidelines, the president of the Republic instructed the government to “promulgate the statutes of national education and university teachers and of the occupational categories in the health sector before the end of the year.”
