ALGIERS – Tuesday, 13 December 2022 (APS) – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, inaugurated on Tuesday at the Exhibition Center (Pins Maritimes, Algiers) the 30th National Production Fair “FPA 2022,” in the presence of ministers and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.
President Tebboune began his visit to the fair by visiting the stand of military industries of the People’s National Army (ANP) whose companies take part in this event for the sixth consecutive time.
The President of the Republic has highlighted the need to increase the rate of national integration and create “a real mechanical industry.”
“We must not be satisfied with the assembly, and move towards industrialization,” he said, stressing the importance of achieving an integration rate between 40 and 50%.
At the stand of the Council of Economic Renewal Algerian (CREA), President Tebboune stressed the need to reduce dependence on oil table and achieve a production “from field to consumer.”
“We aspire to achieve between April and May a real table oil industry, from the field to the consumer, in order to end the import of crude oil to refine, and our dependence on the international market,” he said.
Regarding sugar, the President of the Republic invited investors to produce it in Algeria, encouraging them “to export freely in a later phase,” especially since sugar is in high demand on the African market.
At the stand of household appliances, Tebboune called for the reduction of imports of household appliances and the strengthening of local investment in this area.
He reiterated, on this occasion, the state’s commitment to continue supporting investors to enable them to achieve an acceptable integration rate and contribute to the creation of more jobs.
Themed “For a strong and attractive economy,” this this fair will run until December 24 with the participation of nearly 600 Algerian public, private and start-up companies, on a total area of about 27,000 m2, according to the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (Safex), organizer of this event.
Companies taking part in the FPA 2022 represent several sectors of activity including military, mechanical, manufacturing (furniture, decor and textiles), electrical, electronic, household appliances, mechanical, petrochemical, and food, as well as services, banks, and building and construction materials, in addition to the handicrafts sector.
According to Safex, the Fair will open its doors every day from 11:00 to 18:00.
