ALGIERS – Thursday, 09 November 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, conducted Thursday, on the proposal of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning, a large-scale reshuffle among the provincial secretaries general, with 15 local officials promoted, the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning said in a statement.
“Upon the proposal of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, conducted Thursday, 25 Rabie Ethani 1445, corresponding to 9 November 2023, a large-scale reshuffle among the provincial secretaries general,” the statement said.
The statement said that “15 local officials among the provincial general inspectors, directors of local administration, of regulations, and general affairs, as well as heads of sub-prefectures have been promoted to provincial secretaries general.”
It also includes “the transfer of seven provincial secretaries general to other provinces and the end of duties for six provincial secretaries general,” the statement said.
This reshuffle, that follows the one conducted by the President of the Republic among the governors and deputy governors, aims to “bolster local development and rigorously implement related decisions, particularly through effective supervision of local affairs by qualified and competent officials,” the statement wrapped up.
