ALGIERS – Wednesday, 16 February 2022 (APS) – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, denied Tuesday the presence of any disagreement between Arab leaders regarding the holding of the next Arab Summit in Algeria, announcing that it will be held during the last quarter of the current year.

Speaking at his regular interview with representatives of the national press, Tebboune stressed that “there is no disagreement.   We have only received encouragement from the brotherly Arab countries, namely the Gulf, Egypt, Tunisia, and Yemen.

“All Arab brothers are waiting for the summit because of Algeria’s policy, which is fair and does not seek to cause Fitna between countries. We tend rather to unite countries as much as possible,” said the President of the Republic.

Moreover, President Tebboune hoped that the Algiers summit will lead to “very positive” results, especially since “the Arab world needs it.”

“Let’s stop the disunity,” he added.

The Arab League needs today “to review its texts and laws,” he said.

“In view of the visit made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, in some Arab countries, everyone agreed to hold the summit in Algiers,” said President Tebboune.

Regarding the date of the summit, President Tebboune said that “an official meeting of Arab foreign ministers will be held next March in Cairo during which the final date of the summit will be fixed.
