BEIJIN – Tuesday, 18 July 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a solemn welcome in Beijing on Tuesday from his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
The welcome ceremony took place at the Great Hall of the People in accordance with ancient Chinese traditions.
The two presidents first listened to the national anthems of the two countries, before saluting detachments of the Chinese Army, which paid honors to President Tebboune, while 21 cannon shots were fired in honour in honor of the President of the Republic.
President Tebboune then greeted his hosts among the senior officials of the People’s Republic of China and took a souvenir photo with his Chinese counterpart.
President Tebboune arrived in Beijing on Monday as part of a state visit to China at the invitation of his counterpart, Xi Jinping.
A large ministerial delegation accompanied President Tebboune during this visit, which is part of a drive to boost strong and long-standing relations and to strengthen economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
