MOSCOW – Wednesday, 14 June 2023 (APS) – As part of his state visit to Russia at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune inaugurated Wednesday in Moscow the stele commemorating the founder of the Algerian state, Emir Abdelkader.

The ceremony to inaugurate the stele commemorating Emir Abdelkader was attended by the Russian Minister of Agriculture, Dimitri Patrouchev, and the Minister of the Moscow Government, Sergei Cheryomin.

The Emir Abdelkader commemorative stele is the first of its kind to be erected in Moscow in memory of a Muslim and Arab leader, in recognition of his contributions and role in spreading the values of tolerance and dialogue between religions and the principles of humanity.
