ALGIERS – Wednesday, 29 March 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune held phone talks Tuesday with his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interest, said the Presidency of the Republic in a statement.

“The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune held phone talks today with the President of the Republic of Italy, a friendly country, Sergio Mattarella, who offered him and the Algerian people his wishes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan,” said the source.

The two Presidents discussed “the upcoming edition of the 9th Rome MED–Mediterranean Dialogues.”

“President Tebboune has accepted the invitation of his Italian counterpart to participate in this event.”

As for the bilateral relations, the two heads of state “welcomed the pace of bilateral cooperation achieved, emphasizing the convergence of views and deep and rooted friendship uniting the two friendly countries.”

The two Presidents also focused on “regional and international issues of common interest serving the interest and stability of the region.”
