ALGIERS – Monday, 01 May 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune called Monday Algerians to adhere to the process of change experienced by the new Algeria in this phase, stressing that the achievements made so far for the benefit of workers attest to the determination of the state to preserve the dignity of the citizen and enshrine work as an essential value for the building of a modern and strong economy.

In a message sent to Algerian workers, on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, President Tebboune said that “the achievements made so far for the benefit of workers attest to our determination to preserve the dignity of the citizen, to value the efforts and to enshrine work as an essential value for building a modern economy and strong with the hands of Algerians.”

 

The Head of State called on Algerians to “adhere to the process of change that new Algeria is experiencing and win the bet of the knowledge economy and digital transformation.”

According to President Tebboune, “state’s efforts aim to ensure optimal use of mechanisms and devices created in order to encourage initiative and innovation, and to establish transparency in the management of public affairs and the principle of equal opportunity for workers, and economic and social partners.”

On this occasion, the President of the Republic congratulated workers and seized this opportunity to pay tribute “to the militancy of workers and trade unionists who have engraved their names through their national commitment and loyalty to the homeland.”

The President of the Republic also paid tribute to “the memory of the two martyrs Aissat Idir and Abdelhak Benhamouda and their companions among trade unionists and workers, fallen as martyrs during the Glorious War of Liberation, as well as the martyrs of national duty, who, through their bold nationalist positions, blocked the road to the supporters of violent extremism and barbaric terrorism during the years of tragedy.
