ALGIERS – Sunday, 12 March 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune said Sunday that Algeria would host, next summer, a small meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

In a joint news conference held with his Ugandan’s counterpart, Yoweri Museveni, who is on a state visit to Algeria, the president of the Republic said Algeria would host, next summer, a small meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

With regard to bilateral relations between Algeria and Uganda, the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said the discussions he had with President Museveni was an opportunity to discuss “several issues of common interest, especially coordination of positions in support of just causes in international fora, on the top of which the Palestinian and Western Sahara causes.”

In the economic field, President Tebboune said that “150 Algerian businessmen would go to Uganda’s capital, Kampala, to examine partnership opportunities with their Ugandan counterparts.”
