ALGIERS – Friday, 16 June 2023 (APS) – Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, received on Thursday, the African Union (AU) Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Minata Samate Cessouma, who is on a working visit to Algeria as part of the inauguration of the provisional headquarters of the Great Museum of Africa (GMA), according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office.

The meeting, which took place at the Government Palace, was “an opportunity to express the satisfaction of both parties with the completion of the GMA project, which is intended to be a pioneering project in line with the continental organisation’s Agenda 2063,” according to the same source.

The two parties also affirmed “their shared willingness to continue cooperation and coordination with a view to transforming the museum into a continental beacon reflecting Africa’s diverse cultural and historical heritage.

They further affirmed their determination to work together and strengthen African capacities to meet the challenges related health, humanitarian affairs and social development,” the source concluded.
