WASHINGTON – Wednesday, 14 December 2022 (APS) – The Prime Minister, Aimene Benabderrahmane held bilateral meetings with U.S. business leaders and members of Congress on Tuesday evening in Washington, on the sidelines of his participation in the United States-Africa Leaders Summit in his capacity as representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Benabderrahmane received the Chief Strategy Officer with Hecate Energy, David Wilhelm, with whom he discussed the enormous potential of Algeria in the field of renewable energy and the government’s plans to develop this sector in the coming years by taking advantage of the expertise and experience of U.S. companies and their new techniques in this field.

The PM Minister also received the head of the President of Chevron Middle East, Africa, South America Exploration and Production Company, Clay Neff, with whom he focused on cooperation projects between the two countries in the field of energy and partnership and investment models that both parties seek to implement. 

The PM highlighted the attractiveness of investment and the new business climate in Algeria and the benefits offered.

Benabderrahmane also received the U.S. Senator Troy Nehls. They discussed the Algeria-US ties and ways to strengthen them in various economic areas. 

At the end of the first day of the summit, the PM attended a dinner organized by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi in honor of the Heads of State and Government participating in this event, and in the presence of members of Congress and the House of Representatives.
