ALGIERS – Sunday, 25 June 2023 (APS) – Secretary General of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), Djamel Aissa Al Loughani, will begin a three-day visit to Algeria on Sunday, as part of the cooperation between Algeria and his organisation, the Ministry of Energy and Mines said in a press release.

This visit aims to “strengthen cooperation relations between Algeria and OPAEP in the fields of hydrocarbons and energy in general,” said the same source.

During his visit, the General Manager of OPAEP will hold a meeting with Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, during which an agreement will be signed between OPAEP and the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP) on training.

Arkab and the SG of OPAEP will also present awards to the Algerian researchers who won the 2020 OPAEP Prize, in recognition of their efforts in scientific research in the field of energy, the source concluded.
