ALGIERS – Wednesday, 01 November 2023 (APS) – Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane on Tuesday said the anniversary of November 1st, marking the outbreak of the Glorious National Liberation War, was a bulwark against any attempt to undermine Algeria’s security and sovereignty.

On the eve of the commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the outbreak of the National Liberation War, the prime minister said November 1st was a “memorable day” and a “glorious page of our history written in golden letters, thanks to the achievements of our mujahideen (freedom fighters) and the sacrifices of our martyrs.”

The event is a “lighthouse that illuminates our path and the path of all peoples seeking freedom. It is a bulwark against any attempt to undermine our security and sovereignty.”

“As an Algerian people and state, it is our duty, on this day, to pray to Almighty God to grant his Holy Mercy to our brave martyrs, without whom we would not have been free,” Benabderrahmane said.

“We should also implore the Almighty God to protect our mujahideen, our living memory, thanks to whom we have become the masters of our destiny.”
