ALGIERS – Tuesday, 17 October 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Monday praised the high level of patriotism of Algerians living abroad under all circumstances.
“I would like to convey my greetings to you, the members of the community everywhere in the world, and remember our brave martyrs, those who lost their lives on this painful day,” the president of the Republic wrote in his message marking the National Migration Day, commemorating the massacres of 17 October 1961.
“I would also like to praise the high level of patriotism of the children of Algeria living abroad,” the message said.
The president stressed that Algerians abroad “are driven by this very spirit to face lies and campaigns by circles hostile to Algeria, at a time when our country has taken unprecedented steps in the construction of the New Algeria.”
President Tebboune stressed the commitment “to lay the institutional foundations” and “achieve economic take off, with a leitmotiv of the preservation of the citizens’ dignity and the country’s supreme interests.”
