ALGIERS – Wednesday, 29 November 2023 (APS) – Mohamed El Habib Zahana was appointed Minister of Transport on Wednesday, following his installation on Tuesday by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, after consultation with Prime Minister, Nadhir Larbaoui.
Zahana will replace Youcef Chorfa, who has been appointed Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of the sector’s executives and the heads of the institutions under its authority. The new minister took the opportunity to thank President Tebboune for the “confidence” he had placed in him. Zahana expressed his willingness to work with all those involved to improve the management of the sector and achieve its objectives. The new Transport Minister was previously Secretary General of the same ministry. For his part, Cherfa thanked the President of the Republic for renewing his confidence in him as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
