ALGIERS – Thursday, 14 September 2023 (APS) – The minister of Communication, Mohamed Laagab, met Wednesday evening, in Algiers, with the managers of electronic websites registered with the ministry of Communication, urging them to make further efforts to provide constructive content, the ministry said in a statement.
Held at the ministry’s headquarters, the meeting is part of the meetings initiated by the minister of Communication with the managers of the different media institutions to listen to their concerns and proposals, the statement said.
“Similar meetings will be held with the managers of other electronic websites.”
“The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, gives a special interest to the electronic websites issue,” Laagab said, adding that “the State needs a strong national media as it is its showcase.”
The minister said that “he works together with all the players of the sector to define the outlines of a strong media policy based on a prospective approach.”
Laagab emphasized the “importance of building strong media through continuing training, as stipulated in the new organic law on information.”
