ORAN – Tuesday, 08 March 2022 (APS) – Minister of Communication Mohamed Bouslimani affirmed Monday, in Oran, that Algeria will provide all the necessary means and equipment to facilitate the tasks of Algerian and foreign journalists during the 19th Mediterranean Games of Oran.
In a statement to the press, on the sidelines of his inspection visit to different sporting infrastructures which will host of the competitions of this sporting event, the minister underlined that “the sector of communication in Algeria possesses an experience in the coverage of such events.
We will provide all the sporting facilities and hotels, where the competitions of this event will take place, with the necessary equipment in order to facilitate the tasks of Algerian and foreign journalists, added the minister.
In this regard, Bouslimani said that “the first task of the International Press Center is to provide the Algerian and foreign journalists with all the necessary means and equipment for the success of this major event,” affirming, in this regard, that “Algeria will take up the challenge and is able to host this Mediterranean sporting event.”
As regards media coverage by foreign press, the minister said, in a statement made at the headquarters of the regional Radio of Oran, that “foreign media will be strongly present alongside the national press. There are today about 60 authorized media outlets in Algeria and the different delegations of the Mediterranean countries will be accompanied by journalists as well as journalists from countries outside the Mediterranean basin who will come to cover this important event.”
