ALGIERS – Wednesday, 22 February 2023 (APS) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra received Tuesday the State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlik Radman, the ministry said in a statement.

 

“The talks between the two sides focused on avenues to deepen the political understanding between the two countries and to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in various sectors,” said the source.

The two sides examined “ the results of the 3rd  session of political consultations, held early in the morning at the Ministry headquarters under the joint chairmanship of Secretary General Amar Belani and Croatian State Secretary Frano Matusic,”  added the source.

In this respect, Lamamra welcomes the dynamic characterizing the Algerian-Croatian relations and promising prospects to strengthen the economic dimension in the light of the joint historical heritage between the countries.

In a statement to the press following his meeting with Lamamra, the Croatian official pointed out that his visit to Algeria aims to “strengthen the relations between the two countries in various fields.”

“I had talks with Foreign Minister Lamamra on ways to strengthen the bilateral relations,” he underlined.

He also held discussions with ministers of Energy and Transport on “cooperation opportunities between the two countries.”

He affirmed that Algeria is a “friendly country,” a “strategic partner” in the region and a “key country in the field of energy, a field to which the European Union attaches a great interest,” pointing out that the cooperation between the two countries could include other sectors.
