ALGIERS – Monday, 17 October 2022 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, held Sunday a meeting with the secretary general of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, currently on a working visit to Algiers as part of the permanent coordination to complete the preparations ahead of the Arab Summit, to be held in Algiers on November 1-2, the ministry said in a statement.
“Discussions focused on the essential topics relevant to the Arab Summit. The two sides discussed the major themes of the event’s agenda, in addition to the prospects for ambitious decisions to create a new momentum for the promotion of joint Arab action.”
Arab countries need to take, in a collective and consensual way, Arab challenges in the political, economic and security fields to allow the Arab organization to be an influential actor at the international level, mainly in the light of the significant changes in the world.”
The secretary general of the Arab League commended “the role of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his laudable efforts that led to an agreement among the leaders of the Palestinian factions and the signing of the Declaration of Algiers for the Palestinian reconciliation.”
