ALGIERS – Thursday, 11 August 2022 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, on a working visit to Baku, was received by the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to whom he delivered a message from president of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the ministry said Wednesday in a statement.

“President of the Republic’s special envoy conveyed the fraternal greetings of President Tebboune to his Azerbaijani counterpart and his best wishes for good health and well-being as well as further progress and prosperity to the Azerbaijani brother people,” the statement said.

“President Aliyev asked Lamamra to extend his warm greetings to President Tebboune, expressing his deep gratitude for Algeria’s commitment and unwavering support to the efforts and initiatives of the Azerbaijani presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).”

“The president of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed his desire to pay a visit to Algeria to work together with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the opening of new prospects of cooperation between the two countries in all fields,” the statement said.

President Aliyev also “expressed his commitment to enhancing consultation and coordination, especially in energy, given that Algeria and Azerbaijan are among the major gas exporters.”
