ALGIERS – Wednesday, 16 February 2022 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, will take part in the 6th EU-AU Summit bringing together the leaders of European Union and African Union countries in Brussels on February 17-18, as a representative of the president of the de la Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the ministry said Wednesday in a statement.

 

“In his capacity as the representative of the president of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, will take part in the sixth EU-AU Summit, to be held in Brussels on February 17-18,” the statement said.

The African and European leaders will discuss a number of themes, including “security and peace, good governance, teaching, vocational training, migration, agriculture, sustainable development, health systems, production of Covid 19 vaccines, funding of development projects, support to the private sector and economic integration.”

During the summit, Algeria will “contribute, alongside African countries, to the achievement of a shared and realistic approach for partnership between the two continental organizations, based on consultation according to the data and specificities of each side.”

Such partnership is aimed at “developing beneficial joint plans of action for both sides, paving the way for the next steps to bolster the partnership.”
