ALGIERS – Wednesday, 18 October 2023 (APS) – Algeria will take part in the 56th session of the executive Council of International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) in the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek, from Wednesday, the Civil Defense said in a statement.

Algeria is represented in this two-day meeting by a delegation led by the General Director of Defense Civil, Colonel Boualem Boughelaf, the statement said.

The Secretary General of the ICDO, Mariatou Yap, will present her “activity and financial report, the operations carried out by the ICDO during the current fiscal year and the lobbying operations, which enabled the training of the Civil Defense personnel in several member States, and provided professional categories with capacity building tools.”

In this regard, the participants will examine “the budget allocated for the activity programme for 2024 and the contributions from the ICDO member States,” the statement said, stressing the importance of raising them to enable the organization to carry out the actions planned in its programme.

In this meeting, the members of the council will “elect the president and vice-president of the ICDO’s executive council.”
