ALGIERS – Tuesday, 13 June 2023 (APS) – Algeria will be the guest of honour of the 29th International Book Fair of Beijing, China, to be held June 15-18, the ministry of Culture said Monday in a statement.
Algeria will be represented “by a high-level delegation of the ministry of Culture and Arts, made up of big names of literature and arts, in addition to an exhibition of Algerian books,” the statement said.
“The welcome given to Algeria by China at the 29th International Book Fair of Beijing, under the slogan ‘Algiers-Beijing: Crossroads between Culture and Civilizations’ comes as part of the strengthening of the cultural cooperation and exchange between the two countries, evidence of the depth of bilateral relations,” the statement said.
China was the guest of honour of the 23rd International Book Fair of Algiers in 2018, which marked the 60th anniversary of Algerian-Chinese relations.
Over 200,000 Chinese and foreign books will be displayed at the 29th International Book Fair of Beijing, in addition to a virtual fair exhibiting the emerging publishing methods.
