ALGIERS – Tuesday, 13 June 2023 (APS) – Algeria’s pioneering experience in terms of food security has been presented at the world conference  of the International Grains Council (IGC Grains Conference 2023)‎, being held (June 12-13) in London, United Kingdom, mentioning the steps the country has made for the development of agriculture, the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said Sunday in a statement.

The conference is attended by the chief of staff of the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, representing the minister, the director general of the Algerian Inter-Professional Office and the representative of Algeria’s embassy in London, the statement said.

In an address at the opening of the conference, the representative of the Agriculture and Rural Development ministry said “the steps made for the development of agriculture, and mainly the strategic branches, were presented,” in addition to “Algeria’s leading experience and its programmes to achieve food security in a fast-changing world.”

Leading a roundtable on food security, the ministry’s representative emphasized “Algeria’s strategy to meet the country’s food needs,” in addition to “Algeria’s experience in achieving and ensuring food security.”
