ALGIERS – Monday, 03 October 2022 (APS) – Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Yacine Hamadi stressed Sunday, in Algiers, the role of the organization of the 21st International Tourism and Travel Show (SITEV) in highlighting the various tourism assets of Algeria and their exploitation in support to the country’s economic development.

 

Supervising the wrap-up ceremony of SITEV, which lasted four days, the minister said that this event is meant to be “an important opportunity to open a new page in the history of Algerian tourism, likely to make it contribute to the economic development par excellence, according to the approach outlined by President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune inorder to promote this sector and give it the role it deserves in the new Algeria.”

Pointing out that this approach was enshrined by the Government’s action plan, by giving the sector of tourism the position it deserves, in order to contribute to the national economic revival, the minister welcomed, on this occasion, the level of the organization of the show by highlighting the momentum of tourism culture that Algeria possesses.

In this respect, the minister stressed the interest attached by the Algerian citizens to domestic tourism, as evidenced by the huge numbers of visitors that exceeded 80,000 in four days, in addition to over 300 national exhibitors, 240 spaces, the participation of 31 States, as well as foreign visitors, including journalists and operators.
