ALGIERS – Wednesday, 12 April 2023 (APS) – General Said Chanegriha, the chief of staff of the People’s National Army, took part on Wednesday, in Rio De Janeiro, in the opening ceremony of the 13th Defence and Security Exhibition (LAAD-2023) to which participated 340 companies of the arms sector representing more than 80 countries, the Ministry of the National Defence said in a statement.
“On the second day of his visit to Brazil, General Said Chanegriha, the chief of staff of the People’s National Army, took part in the opening ceremony of the 13th Defence and Security Exhibition (LAAD-2023), held in Rio De Janeiro in Brazil,” said the source.
“This exhibition is the largest event of its kind in Latin America in the field of military industry and defence systems. Over 80 countries and 340 companies of the arms sector are taking part in this edition,” added the source.
On the sidelines of the opening ceremony “General Said Chanegriha held talks with the Chief of Staff of Saudi Arabia, General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili,” said the statement.
“The two sides examined on this occasion ways and means to strengthen cooperation in the military and security fields,” added the source.
General Chanegriha held “several meetings with the officials of Indian companies participating in this exhibition,” and “held a working session with the officials of the Brazilian aircraft construction company “Embraer.”
The chief of staff of the People’s National Army “visited different pavilions of the Exhibition (LAAD-23) to enquire about the latest technological evolutions in armament and military industries,” said the statement.
