ALGIERS – Thursday, 18 August 2022 (APS) – Prime Minister, Aimene Benabderrahmane, arrived Thursday in El-Tarf, on the instructions of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to inquire about the damage caused by the fires that broke out in the province.

 

Accompanied by Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Kamal Beldjoud, Benabderrahmane has witnessed the extent of damage caused by fires in the region of Brabtia in El-Kala.

Beldjoud said that these fires had caused 24 deaths in the province of El-Tarf and two deaths in the province of Setif.

The fires ravaged nearly 1,800 hectares of brush and around 800 hectares of forests in the provinces of El-Tarf, Setif, Souk Ahras, Jijel, Skikda and Tipasa, he added.

For his part, President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had presented, Wednesday, his sincere condolences to the families of victims of these fires, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

President Tebboune reiterated the support of the state and the full mobilization of various services to overcome these fires.
